Really depends what you are looking for, there are a lot of cheap boards from china with a wide variety of features. If you are looking just to try out what a mech keyboard feels like you can key a full-size or TKL (without numpad) for around £30-£40 on amazon/ebay if you avoid RGB backlighting etc. Look for boards with Gateron, Kailh or OUtemu switches as they are good Cherry MX clones (subjectively better than the originals).
A lot of the kinds of boards you see on here (HHKB, OLKB, Realforce) are sorta hipster and aren't really worth their price if you ask me, certainly not for a first buy.

do shop around though!

I have 2 full size boards like that for about £50 each. The first is called the 'Arealer Roarer' and came with blue switches branded 'long hua' which are made by Kaihua, the same company that make Kailh switches. The second is the Ajazz AK60, which has a nice volume wheel and side printed legends. It came with Ajazz's own red switches which aren't great, too light, pingy and scratchy. I'm replacing the red switches with Gateron blacks and the blues with Novelkeys' new BOX navies. Happy hunting!
