"This week, we’re talking about battlestations—the best monitor setups, headsets, chairs, and mice for gaming." Are you kidding me? No mention of keyboards, the most important part of a good battle station...

McDoogleThe PC is obviously the most important part of a battlestation, however I would agree that keyboards should really have been mentioned

AD2017amYeah, even as a keyboard guy, I would agree that the heart of the PC is the most important part here (mainly CPU/GPU), with most of the other components being a lot of fun to pick out and upgrade easily over time.
Still, a keyboard is the primary way you will be interacting with the PC, and should not be overlooked. If you are going to drop the funds on a really nice battlestation, why skimp on the component that will be your direct link to the computer? A good keyboard will easily outlast most components on the computer that already have pretty short periods of relevancy.

McDoogleAs annother person who loves custom boards, (and has tried various premades) I honestly think keyboards are one of the least relevant parts for gaming (which battle station suggests for me). Anything other than a G PRO is a disadvantage with the exception of PCB mods on other boards

McDoogleI would argue that the three most important parts of your battle station, aside from yourself, are your chair, your desk, and your primary monitor, followed by your mouse and keyboard. You can rock an 8700K and a pair 1080Ti cards that push your frame rates to the heavens, but if you're uncomfortable and can't see what you're doing, it won't matter. Budget first for excellent peripherals and furniture, which will last for a decade or more, then spend what's left on the actual PC. You won't be sorry.

rebdaxI would rather sit on a folding chair and use an old fashioned 1080p monitor than use a junky old keyboard.
To me the keyboard is the heart of a good battlestation. It's the most significant point of human/computer interface. A decent monitor and chair are needed of course. A beefy PC is nice too, just not as important.
