I am going to need to expand on this initial "teaser" picture... but this is my gear loft. I use bins rather than baskets like what was in the OP because I don't want to have to dust my gear off. I am moving the bags and quilts to hangers next week though. Let me know if any of you wanna see what is in any of the bins. ;)

CuylarJust wanted to say thanks for posting the picture. I showed it to my wife, she agreed to leave me alone about my"gear habit" for awhile. Lol.

CuylarBins 2-5.... but we'll just call them Bin 2! (since they are always in a stack on the shelf)
A variety of clips, rings, pulleys, etc..... There's 2 of these and I didn't see the need to snap a photo of both of them.

Kinda like a DIY kit.... maybe it'd be better labeled a

When it comes to eating utensils ... I'm a bit of a nut job. From poly to steel to titanium.... and even aluminum... I have some favorites... but that's for a different day.

Did you say "STEAK?" Hopefully nobody got that reference... I try to keep them grouped by materials. I never saw the point in leaving them in the bag with the tent.

CuylarFantastic. I like bins too. If you ever had to bug out, much easier to haul these into the back of a pickup truck than loose gear.

CuylarI'm not sure if you do much climbing or canyoneering, but it's good practice not to keep climbing rated carabiners with non-climbing carabiners. This reduces the risk of putting your life in the hands of a carabiner that can only hold a few pounds. Not sure if this pertains to you, but I thought I'd put it out there.

ATF212I’ve actually been in a conversation with someone about that very thing before. I use the caribeaners for hammocks and bear bags primarily. We did use them for climbing on some rocks a few times but since I’m not very experienced in that I’ve taken extra caution not to mix them up.
That said... since this is the 2nd time someone has mentioned it to me. I might need to make a change since it’s actually good advice.
Thanks for reminding me. :)
