Massdrop web eating my CPU

more_vert
Every time I enter a drop, the CPU starts to rise and the fan rotates like a hydrogen electron orbiting the nucleus. It happens with all my computers: an HP desktop at work, a macbook pro, and an old VAIO. It's extremely annoying with the laptops.
Tested with Safari, Opera, and Vivaldi.
Does anyone experience this problem?, any solution?

MD uses a Javascript framework for their UI. So unlike sensibly designed websites, this one doesn't even load with Javascript turned off. A consequence of that is that instead of your browser rendering the page and then being done, logic is running constantly.
For me (Mac OS, latest updates), MD's javascript only seems to freak out if I have several open tabs of different MD pages. I'm guessing there's some sort of polling against a shared resource or similar, and am also very happy that my job isn't troubleshooting it.

I do not see this, have you looked at Activity Monitor to see which process is doing this? The Energy tab may be the most telling.

jceaserI've used process explorer and 100% it's the browser. I can even see that there is only one subprocess that is eating the CPU, and when I close the massdrop tab, that subprocess dissapears and the CPU goes down. Could it be that you have a multicore CPU and the browser is "only" at 50% or 25% ?

Chrome browser? I noticed the Chrome Helper task fires up in the background and eats cycles like a game of Hungry Hippos! Purportedly its related to certain types of code on a site, like Flash and some others. Not sure what the answer is.
