Looking for backlight full-size keyboard

more_vert
Hello everyone I am new to the whole keyboard enthusiast thing and over the past several years have been purchasing the standard high end popular keyboards such as
Corsair K95, Logitech G810, Razer Chroma Blackwidow, Mionix Wei and none of these would I classify as cheap as they range in price from $150-$200 dollars and none of them really made me happy, either the keycaps legends wore off, became shinny, were loose, led light going out, they all just seemed cheap and most would just throw on an aluminum chassis to give it the impression of better build quality.
I am looking for a good keyboard, I do like RGB or at least strong single color backlighting as I work in a low light room, I prefer the clicky blue switches and I do not care for the compact keyboards like the 60% or 75% I would either want a full layout or possible a tenkeyless. I can't afford a top of the line keyboard that cost hundreds of dollars i've seen some over $300 but I want something good, something I can customize the keycaps and something that will last as I am just trying to get by and cant afford keep getting new keyboards like I have been doing.

Hope to hear back from the community that can give me some good advice and thank you all in advance for anyone that reads my ramblings.

This sounds like basically everything you're looking for and is an affordable, quality board.

LevelSteamyes I looked at that one but was not sure if it was just a mass-produced crap as I was wanting to break into the enthusiast keyboard arena, customizing my keycaps and stuff. So wanted a good base to build from not a throw away keyboard.

GeeknoidIt has a fully standard ANSI layout so you'll be able to use various keycaps with it without needing a bunch of expensive add-on kits.
If you want a more enthusiast board, the Kira group buy is taking place on kickstarter right now- Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Cherry MX Blue, RGB LED, Full Size (Large) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D3BDNF6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0DHWAbK5Z54DB

Hello @Geeknoid,
One keyboard I've been thinking about getting is a GMMK keyboard. https://www.pcgamingrace.com/collections/modular-mechanical-gaming-keyboards
They have full RGB lighting, hot swappable switches (so you can totally customize it with whatever MX compatible switches you want) and seem priced for a good value.
I've not used one yet myself, but I inquired about this keyboard a little while back and Massdrop user @koac113 gave me a good review of his experience with the TKL version of the board here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/novelkeys-x-kaihua-kalih-speed-heavy-switches/talk/1994023
If you're new to mechanical keyboards, this might be a great starter board to play with - before moving on up to other more specialized boards of varying designs and quality.
I've been wanting to pick up a barebones version (without switches or keycaps) just for the fact that it's only $60 so it should be a fun board to test out key switch configurations as my collection of switches grows.
Just my opinion/observation, hope that helps!
EDIT: I should add though that I've been using a WASD keyboard for a few months now and I'm very happy with it's quality: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/
