Partially Serrated Blades

more_vert
I've been watching and waiting since I joined Massdrop for a good drop on a partially serrated folding blade, but so far nothing... It can't be just me that prefers this style of blade, can it?? Is there every going to be a partially serrated folder drop?

I agree wholeheartedly. I have a horse farm and I use partially serrated blades almost exclusively.
My most recent Massdrop knife acquisitions have been partially serrated blade knives. One just kind of has to be patient and wait. The CRKT Ikoma Fossil is AWESOME.

Yeah... it's tough. For certain users, the serrations are invaluable. I cut a lot of cord and rope when working on the hobby farm. At the same time, they are a bugger to sharpen well and I think a lot of knife makers and users prefer a straight blade that can be sharpened much better and easier. My EDC is a non-serrated knife but when working around the farm, my beater knife will always have some serrations. Another advantage to serrations is that they cut better dull (or at least "not sharp") compared to a straight edge.
I'd not say it's just you, there are others that like that style, but it's by no means a large amount of people.
You're definitely in the minority, but we do have them as options sometimes - we rarely offer them if that's the only version available because not enough people want them for the drops to succeed. CRKT or Kershaw are the brands to watch - you can do a search for "serrated" and check out some past drops. Mt. Ranier, Navajo, Blur, Volt are a few I can think of.
