For our list, we wanted to take a slightly different approach than just finding delicious vegan recipes and pick some of the best recipes we could could that just happen to be naturally vegan, not recipes that go out of their way to be vegan.
#1. Shiitake-and-Scallion Lo Mein
Lo Mein are a thick what noodle often found in traditional Chinese dishes. They work well in soups and stir frys. This recipe is heavily inspired by Asian street foods, and wraps the noodles in banana leaves.
This list wouldn’t be complete without a delicious treat for everyone with a sweet-tooth. This is anything but a traditional store bought peanut butter cup though, it’s not overly sweet and has a much richer, more complex flavor.
Pulao is a rice dish that originated in Persia and has since found its way to India. It packs huge amounts of flavor thanks to heavy use of spices. The cashews and vegetables make it quite hearty as well.
This hearty dish is easy to make and super flavorful thanks to the fat-free sweet chili mustard sauce. The heartiness of the beans and rice, mixed with the creaminess of the avocado and zing of the sauce create a perfectly balanced dish.
Okay, so ice cream is definitely not traditionally vegan, but this recipe is so delicious it doesn’t even matter. The dish is surprisingly delicious (even though the flavors aren’t that of traditional ice cream), especially when you consider there are only 4 ingredients. This one is a must try!
