I would prefer a fixed blade offering. Consider that Micarta on a folder is very abrasive and a bit too "grippy" on pants pockets, causing fraying if drawn/pocketed often. I like and use both small fixed blade knives, and huge ones. For a community-buy, I would imagine a small to mid-size knife would be preferable. Blade steel is always important. Stay away from 400-series stainless (440, 440C etc.), but otherwise, I'm open to any mid to high-end carbon or stainless steels. Shape, thickness, dimensions, weight and geometry would be dependent upon what primary use(s) the knife would be expected to fulfill, but if I had my druthers, they would be specs suitable for heavy outdoor use(s) like bush-craft, hunting and to a lesser degree, wood processing. I would be interested in a light-duty EDC type of fixed blade too, as I EDC a fixed blade almost exclusively anymore (examples include a CRKT Ryan Plan B, a Becker BK-14 or a Becker BK-16, the latter of which is for sale on Massdrop as of this date). If it's a fixed blade offering, I wouldn't be interested unless it came with a decent sheath.
