No worries. I figured that was your point. While the cost is understandable, it's still quite expensive for a college student like me. For someone to own both the minivan and the caravan, that's got to be a lot of money.

xkmxYea I wouldn't worry too much though, there were only about 20 (I believe? Maybe 50) units of the Caravan made available and they were all sourced and sold by Evan as an individual meaning it had to be priced accordingly (read: extremely highly) - the Minivan's price was a lot more reasonable, think barebones it was like $120 or $150 which considering the materials used and everything else was pretty good.
It sold a ton of kits too so I'd expect the next round, which should happen here on MD eventually, to be priced even more aggressively. Think Evan said he may potentially be able to offer factory assembly too which is nice if you're new to the hobby or don't have the time/confidence to solder yourself.

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?
I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
