It was my first time stopping by the Werks reunions to admire some Porsches, and although there were many nice cars, I was a bit surprised at what I didn't see. There was only one 918 and Carerra GT. There was no 959 or 997 GT3 RS 4.0, even though I know there are several in the Bay Area. Very few 993 turbos and RS Americas, and not as many 996s and 997s as I expected to see either. I guess I should have been at the Quail. What there were a lot of were Cayman GT4s. You'd never guess they were hard to get and commanded prices well over MSRP.
I've heard great thing about the Werks Reunion. It's one of the events I've been wanting to check out, just unfortuante that it conflicts with the Quail.
Sounds like I had a very different experience this year compares to what you saw. I came across several Carrera GTs in most of the auction previews that I went, it defintely seems like there's a wave of collectors offloading their CGT. Both Bruce Canepa and Mike Schein (https://www.instagram.com/mike_schein/) were roaming around Carmel during the week in 959s. Also saw the air cool unicorn 993 Turbo S along Carmel Valley Road. Although now thinking about it, don't think I saw any RS 4.0...
What other events did you go this year by the way?
