The Stranger Things tattoo is pretty lame, you can safely scrap that

bootboxSo nothing else bothers you amidst the sea of admittedly and proudly cheesy novelties like the Delorean and pacman ghosts but the Stranger Things 011 key is "lame"? I'm confused as for what the reasoning behind that concept is - it is fairly bland/simple as opposed to the other designs but how does that directly correlate to it being lame?
I'm fairly neutral about it myself and obviously the thread is here for feedback, be it positive or negative as per Mito's request, I'm just curious to know/trying to understand the logic behind your statement (if there is any).

bootboxI err toward bootbox's thoughts too. Probably because I don't have nearly as much of a nostalgic connection to 011 as I do most of the other novelties. I adore Stranger Things to death, but that tattoo was only shown once if I remember. I'd rather have a laser effect or laser grid, palm tree, star, sound wave, tiny car (smaller than Delorean) with a laser trail behind it, the arrow with the lines like in the Back to the Future title font, Rubix cube, Tetris blocks, Gismo (the Mogwai from Gremlins) or something else I can't think of haha. But I'm still going to buy if it 011 is there. ^__^

bootboxYet you expect others to give a shit about either of your comments? Let alone care enough to scrap the idea completely? If you don't then that sort of defeats the point of providing feedback does it not, that was my point.
@Koatl 's reply on the other hand is perfectly reasonable, I don't think I need to explain the fundamentals of argumentation to you.

KoatlI'll still buy it too and I love Stranger Things but it's a Netflix show with not-very-neon subject matter, it's too recent IMO, and the reference itself is a pretty far reach. Sure the soundtrack and the cover art have the vaporware vibe but stuff like Pacman, Cruis'n USA, Skate Or Die, T+C Surf Designs, Hobie cats, 12 Monkeys, Blade Runner, Akira, Johnny Mnemonic, Ghost In The Shell, or any other actual vaporware/cyberpunk properties overflowing with possible icons would be far better suited for this keyset.

bootboxI didn't even realized that it was a Stranger Things reference, i thought it was something really niche.
I like the key itself, but I agree that it's "too soon ®" imho. I mean, it's really cool, but since usually Novelties are "iconic" more then just "cool", if the meaning of it is somehow a "reward" (can't find the proper word, but it should fit quite fine) to Stranger Things for approaching people to 80's, in particular to Vaporwave and stuff, I think that something like Hotline Miami would have been much much deserving.
It could even pass for binary code, that said, is one of my favorite one, but for the wrong reasons I guess. Still can't understand the butthurt above tbh

bootboxThis is 2017 keyset design paying homage to a particular era. Accepting a recent creation that was a huge success also taking place in that era makes all the sense in the world here… it brings maturity and connectivity to whole concept.
