I feel I should point out that I have been a loyal Logitech customer for the better part of two decades, having been deeply impressed by the quality and reliability of their controllers, mice and non-mechanical keyboards. However, I have a Logitech G910 Orion Spark, and frankly, I've been disappointed by the tactile sensation of these Romer-G switches.
To me, they feel like a stiffer, squishier membrane switch from the non-mechanical Logitech keyboards and I can feel no real tactile bump until the key cap hits the board. If I rest my fingers on the caps they seem to resist alright, but the moment I press they resist a little and then give up almost immediately. If that tiny resistance is supposed to be the bump, then that's pathetic. I've got meaty hands and need more than that! Heck, I had to put a 4lb spring on my Sanwa JLF just to feel some tension.
Additionally, the keys register long before you bottom out and the keycaps are very wobbly when you actually examine them. I suppose they aren't any louder than standard Logitech keyboards, which means they are nicely quiet, but I think I would have liked some Cherry MX keys with a more noticeable bump.
Keep in mind, the only other mechanical keyboard that I have used was an ancient yellowed IBM behemoth that was attached to a workstation and an actual mechanical typewriter, and I don't actually have any problems using the keyboard, when I'm typing, like I am right now to post this comment, I don't notice any wobble, the sculpted key caps don't interfere with typing, or even in the middle of a gaming session and I play a lot of FPS and Action games. I just wish that there was a more noticeable bump! My only gripe about this keyboard that doesn't focus on the switches is the plastic half-length wrist rest. WTF were you thinking Logitech?

I just recently picked up a Logitech G413 in the BestBuy-exclusive silver colouring. Basically, the existing keyboard that I have stopped working rather suddenly, and I couldn't at this moment afford any of my Apple-of-my-eye replacements (I really want to get an Ergodox at some point), plus I needed something same-day rather than something that would take 12 weeks to arrive (not to mention that shipping from anywhere to Canada is murder). I figured that it would be a middle of the road "blah, but what can you do" replacement, but it turns out that I kinda love it. Like, I literally get a little thrill from typing on it, and it's spurred me to start mapping a bunch of keyboard shortcuts for everything under the sun. I even want to return to a long-neglected short story that I've been working on.
So yeah, the Romer-G switches have a terrible reputation in the community, but as folks have said, it's a preference, and I like them a lot. I haven't installed the gaming keycaps that come with it yet to see if the sculpt of those makes a difference when gaming, but I actually don't do a ton of WASD-style gaming anyway. It would be neat to see some of the fun/cool keycap sets released for Romer-G. I suspect that whatever their reputation, a fair number of people have these keyboards.

I have a logitech g pro with the romer-g. Personally, I love them, though it is my only keyboard. However, I do think it is worth it as the light actuation and the short actuation distance feels amazing for gaming, and the slight tactile click is nice and satisfactory

I think this is a pretty fair comparison video for that price range. I personally don't like green clicky, and got the razer yellow linears and really really enjoy this KB. Still, miss the media controls a lot, might get crazy with my old 710 and swap out the browns...

I bought a Logi 810, which has the Romer-G switches, and TBH I really didn't like them. BUT, I don't like clicky switches in general, and these felt just weird. Kinda like a green crisp up top, but mushy after that. I had a 710 with browns previously, and that was pretty great, except for some reason the damn logi keycaps tend to break. No idea why, but notoriously they break. If I go Logitech again, it will be the 610 witch cherry reds. BTW I went with the Razer Blackwidow v2 RGB with linear yellow switches and I'm very much enjoying it. There are plenty of review videos so check those out. Again, I think it's more that I like linear switches, but the Romers just didn't feel good to me. Just my thoughts, cheers.

Johnny831PS, the space bars on the 810 and 910 rattle a lot, and it sounds really cheap IMO. Sounds like a minor thing, but it get's really annoying after some time.

I have used the romer g longer than any switch. I think that are a fantastic engineering feat. In Fact, the profile, and cap scuplting is my favorite of any Keyset i have ever used. My dream board would be Romer-G profile, and LED (isolated) lighting. I think the lighting is unmatched. Leopold Cherry blacks ; build quality. IPC - Kira condensed fullsize layout. and finally wireless with USB-C charging. i think we are about 1-2 years away from anything close to that keyboard (kira may get it all right accept the cap shape this fall) , but if i could find a board like that , it would be end game for me.

sladeofdarkI have to say, I think the Razer v2 RGB is much better! I had the 810, and it was ok, but I was honestly disappointed with the brightness. I had them side by side, and it's noticeably different. The razer has a white backplate that brings a lot more light to the keycaps. I mainly switched though because I actually like linear switches as they tend to be a faster switch than others. Still want another Logitech board! The boards feel really well made, and that's the one thing I don't like about the razer is that its been the same build for a long time, and is kind of lack luster. I might get crazy and convert the razer v2 to a hot swap board... but need another before that in case it goes bad lol Anyways, not trash talking, just my thoughts. Cheers.

I like Romer-G switches. What I haven't been so thrilled with is the implementation of those switches on Logitech's keyboards or the lack of keycap options for them at present.

I'm no mech-warrior that has many years of experience with different kinds of w̶e̶a̶p̶o̶n̶r̶y̶ keyboards, but I do own a G910 keyboard. I tested the K70 and G910 side by side at bestbuy and I found the G910 to have a more solid and smooth feeling than the K70 with Cherry MX reds. I am wishing they had a more clicky feeling like Cherry MX blues do because the bump or clickyness isn't all that noticeable and over time that bump fades away.

I rather like Romer G's. I think they are closest to slightly shorter throw Clears or Ergo-Clears. The standard caps on the original G910 where horribly profiled but the standard caps on the G810 make it enjoyable. There is not the revised G910 available at Best Buy.
The best example of people coming around are Dmitry from Hardware Canucks who initially hated the switches but came around in 2-4 weeks and quite enjoyed them in the end. I usually recommend at least 2 weeks to get used to a board.
I wouldnt say that there is any hype but I would like to see them in a more quality built board.

ALT V2 not detected with Drop Keyboard Configurator
Hi, This is my first non-mac keyboard. I was under the impression that this would work out of box with with mac desktop however I am having issues getting the ALT V2 detected with the keyboard configurator software. The keyboard is plugged in and powered on. Apologies if this is very basic or if I have used incorrect language describing my issue, I don't have experience with this. Thank you

My Kingdom for Smooth ABS SA Keycaps
Every time I build a new keyboard, I go hunting for keycaps. And every time I go hunting, it eventually devolves into a desperate search for SA (or equivalent) profile keycaps with a smooth finish. SA is the ultimate profile, IMHO, and they're relatively hard to come by. Signature Plastics, which is where a lot of SA sets come from like the T0mb3ry SA Carbon set (they might actually hold the trademark on the SA profile if I'm not mistaken), is reportedly going through some management/ownership struggles (last I heard, they're looking for new ownership), and along with apparently the rest of the industry, they seem to be neglecting this superior keycap profile in their own stocks. If you order direct from them, they have a couple themed sets in stock (maybe), but generally you can have any color you want, as long as it's black or white. We’ve covered the basics of keycap profiles before—spherical/cylindrical, sculpted/uniform, etc. One thing that has come up more and more over the years as we’ve expanded our portfolio of offerings here at Drop is the distinction between some of our similar profiles. Specifically, what is the actual difference between DCX, DCD, and DCL? Anyway, I'm curious to know what the general consensus on Logitech Romer-G keyboards in the Mech-Key community is. Are (Omron) Romer-G switches better than Cherry MX? Worse? Pure hype?
I wonder, because Logitech hardly gets mentioned compared to other mainstream manufacturers like Corsair and Razer.
