Wrist Check

more_vert
As a Chicago guy, I always wanted a classic Elgin, which were made in a town that's about an hour northwest of Chicago. Recently, I picked up this neat one with an art deco silver case. The movement dates to 1928. The case is 37 mm vertically, so it's a good, wearable size for a watch from this era.

That's classic looking watch JL, reminds me of a Cartier piece. Is it just my OCD or the dial is slightly misaligned?
GES11TYes the dial is a little misaligned. Not sure why. It doesn't move around at all, so I'm a little loathe to try to fix it! It may be the entire movement not sitting correctly in the case. Back then, people apparently ordered watch movement and cases separately at the jeweler (each was made by a different company), so maybe that's what's going on, maybe it just doesn't fit totally right.
