Wrist Check

I'm pretty new to watches, up until maybe 2 years ago I hadn't much knowledge between mechanical and quartz etc. Got this MG.ORKINA as a christmas present last year as I am very interested in automatic and manual wind watches, especially skeleton style(love looking at moving clockwork). Been using it daily, only main complaints are that as of maybe a month ago I got my first sight of condensation inside, i've caught it hung up with plenty of power left in the reserve once or twice (on separate occasions from the condensation), which was easily remedied with a turn or two of the crown and I cant remember what the power reserve on it is supposed to be, but I find myself having to wind it every morning. I heard that if you over-wind these types of watches it will ruin them, so perhaps I have just been too gentle with it? Aside from that, it's held time just fine, haven't notice it being fast or slow (though I don't rely on my watches that much so maybe I just don't notice).

Originally, it came with a metal band. I like leather better personally, so I swapped it with a leather band from an old Relic quartz watch that I had with a dead battery.

Absolutely love the window in the back and the openness of the front.

That back side letters are a pain in the neck to clean.

Been keeping my eye on some of the cheaper mechanical/automatic watches, I would like to start a collection, but damn I just cant see myself spending some of the prices they are asking for some of these watches. So far all of the watches I've owned have been under $50 lol. This one was about $15.

You can find nice watches in any price range, as long as the watch appeals to you and you enjoy wearing it. Although many people really dislike Invicta (due to their over sized and over designed watches), a reasonable step up in price from$50 is their 40mm Prodiver. On sale, those can be had in the $60-70 range. I picked up two as beater watches but they keep good time and have been pretty durable so far.

Good plan. A Sub is on my wish list as well, but I also have a number of others on there as well. And thanks to @StainlessOnly I now have added a Breitling Superocean Heritage to my wish list. Too many great watches out there. Fortunately there are some great mid range Submariner homages as you pointed out, to scratch that itch in the meantime. The one I have, which is great quality, is the Squale 1545 30 Atmos Ceramica. The build quality on this watch is fantastic. At around $700, it's still far less than a Submariner, even preowned.

PetrosDI'm always amazed when I see yet another Rolex Submariner homage that I've never seen before. Your Squale 1545 looks great and kinda has an oversized Cyclops magnifyer over the date window....nice. I could easily go broke attempting to collect all of the look-a-likes but I'm sure once I actually own a real Rolex my quest will come to an end.
