Wrist Check

more_vert
Todays wrist check is the Fossil “The Agent” FS4849. I put this watch on every time I start looking at Shinola watches. I can’t help but to think that the movement in my Fossil FS4849 is the same as the movement in the Shinola Runwell Moon Phase which is an Argonite cal.708.1 Quartz. The movement seems to have been flipped upside down by rearranging a few cogs sprockets and springs....ha! I'm no watch maker so can't confirm that my Fossil contains the exact same Argonite movement as the Shinola and I have yet to remove the case back to look. Either way it's just enough of a reality check to help keep my finger off the Shinola Buy-It-NOW button.

What I like most about my Fossil FS4849 is that big day & night moon phase, it takes up half the dial. I also love the super extended orange painted lines that represents rays of light from the sun, it spans across the entire window of this moon phase complication. This watch originaly shipped with a black polished stainless steel bracelet but as always I swapped it for a leather strap....this time a cheap brown Nato.

NOTE: And yes, the founder and former chairman of Fossil is the founder of Shinola and Filson brand watches.
