Wrist Check

more_vert
Just finished up a nice afternoon of fall flyfishing. My fishing watches tend to take a beating, and spend a fair amount of time getting dunked in the river, so I usually go with a Casio ProTrek, or this one, the Filson Mackinaw Field Watch (made by Shinola). Shinola watches, and quartz movements in general, seem to get a lot of criticism, but this one is an absolute gem of a field watch (MSRP is ridiculous, but I got it for around 70% off). Solid, well finished with nice brass accents and Filson Branding on the crown and case back, AR coated sapphire crystal, screw down crown with 200m WR, high quality Nato strap with roller buckle, and excellent lume on the applied indices. Movement is crisp and accurate, with the second hand hitting spot-on. My only real dislike is the enlarged 3-day date window. Also wears, and looks great on a weathered brown leather strap.
