Wrist Check

more_vert
Continuing though my quartz rotation, today is my 36mm Raymond Weil Tango, which I bought at a duty free shop in the Athens airport in January 1997. RW watches really deserve much more love from the watch community. This is one of three that I own (and my wife has two more) and they are all outstanding materials, wrist feel, build quality and reliability. And this watch has one of my favorite dials of any watch I've owned or seen. The only drawbacks are that it's quartz (I mostly wear my mechanicals) and the size (this is really the lower limit of what looks good on my 8" wrist.

On the same trip, I bought the watch below, a 34mm Raymond Weil Parsifal, from Harrod's in London. My wife wore it this past weekend and I think it's going to move to her collection.

handsome watch, RW makes fine pieces, i just don't think the marketing is up to snuff (so many of the swiss brands miss the mark). proportions and dimensions for that watch are just right. i like two tone and that watch reminds me of a watch I regret selling, an early 2000's Baume and Mercier Quartz Riviera two tone SS and 18K, i think aesthetics for both pieces are in the same playground and thanks for sharing and reminding me of the pain i feel when i recall my little B&M... i may circle back and get one in automatic some day...

Danbo_de_PianoSorry to reopen an old wound! B&M makes some beautiful watches. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for me, I've never sold a watch, so I haven't had to feel that regret. But I really need to sell a few watches.
