There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. This was a leap of faith purchase because the watch was running but listed as not working because the time could not be set or adjusted. I bought it with fingers crossed that I could get it fixed for not too much money or time. Turns out the winding stem (that the crown is connected to) had pulled loose inside the movement and was simply spinning in place. My repair shop guy opened the watch lined it up and snapped it back into place, repair cost….$0.00.
The case and case back has plenty of light surface scratches but the gold shines like new. The crystal looks great, I don’t see any scratches. The dial is clean and shows no fading, but does have a few tiny specks and pits!
It’s not a super thin watch but it slips under the cuff of my long sleeves shirts with ease and looks great….I love this watch!
