Wrist Check

more_vert
Todays wrist-check is my Heritor Hoyt Automatic Hr2401

This is the only 1-hander watch in my collection, it was a gift from my wife. It looks great with it’s single hand slowly working it way around the dial. It’s something that took me some time to get use to. The minute markers are broken up into 4 quarters - on the hour, 15min, 30min, 45min, then on the hour again. I’ve learned to simply glance at the watch and guesstimate the time in the few seconds after looking away. If you need precise time telling at a glance this is NOT the watch for you, but if you want to strike up a conversation….it’s go time! Unfortunately this watch offers no hand winding which is ok with me because I only put it on once in awhile - once fully wound this watch is good-2-go. I love the bezel design and matching crown, it plays nicely with the textured dial. I’m not opposed to getting another 1-hand watch but if I do I’ll need it to be more readable, perhaps less of a fashion watch.

I've been looking at einzeigers for a while, and was not aware of this one. MeisterSinger, Botta, and Mühle-Glalshütte are the only ones I was aware of with automatic movements. I personally love the Muhle M 29 Einzeiger, but I'd feel more comfortable if there were a way to buy it in the U.S. Now that I know of Heritor, I'll come back to it from time to time and see if it grows on me more than the Muhle.

Finally a "Einzeiger" posted (unless I missed one before). I think they are cool and unique, I'm just too lazy to ever get one since I don't want to think about figuring out what time it is ;-)

That one might even be more challenging to get used to telling time than my Glycine Airman with the 24 hour dial. Very unique!
