Wrist Check

more_vert
Today’s wrist-check is my almost forgotten Seiko 5 Automatic SNK803 with beige dial.

I meant to add this one as a wrist-check weeks ago and simply forgot because I got so tied up with swapping the strap on the SNK809. Outside of the dial color and strap the SNK809 and SNK803 are the same. Please refer to the links below to review my previous posts.

This is the watch that got me started on mechanical watches about 11 years ago. I worked with someone who wore the olive green version of this every day. One day I noticed that the second hand on his watch didn't tick, it swept.
That was the beginning of the end for me.

You caught on faster than me then. I already had the notion that mechanical watches ran on clockwork, but it was academic until I actually saw that sweeping second hand and it all came together.
Side note: I wonder how many of us are spiraling down this deep dark money-sucking hole thanks to Seiko and its college student budget mechanicals.
