Back on the wrist today after a bit of an absence is the 42mm Squale 1545 30 Atmos. The quality of this watch is outstanding and I recommend Squale watches to anyone considering them.

I looked at Squale the other day, but ...
-- Worst website ever
-- You have to dig through dozens of 1970s pop-art designs to find something normal
-- Quartz, right? The only 1545 on the current website is an ETA quartz. With a mineral glass crystal.
On the other hand, I'm in the market for a really chunky diver, and the Tiger fits the bill there. I wish there was a version with a bracelet. Edit: 11 mm thick? Maybe not so chunky. But still cool looking.

Have you been to this one?

It's run by Marc from Long Island Watch, and the site works (and looks) pretty much the same as LIW's site.

Wow, that's much better than the company's own website. And the weirder watches are gone. I assume that LIW is an authorized dealer, to be using Squale's trademark in a domain name.
Squale makes a kick ass watch, and thats a nice looking one for sure

Well it is pretty much an unabashed homage to the Rolex Submariner, but it's a great piece and perhaps the best quality homage there is. I'm sure Steinhart and Ginault owners might disagree, and I haven't held them all to compare, but this is outstanding quality. And Squale has a great heritage of their own.

Squale is a fine watch in it's own right, with a history to match, which is something the other two cannot lay the same claim to. All three are fine homages to the Submariner though, and any of the four would be serious watch territory for those that know watches, and not just brands. As a person that has owned a couple of Sub's over the years, Rolex just did so many things right, and was first with it, both functionally and visually, it would be tough to NOT make a watch that has some similarity to it frankly.
Cheers on the Squale Petros
