My brother recently bought these headphones. The sound is fantastic and it blocks the outside noise completely. He found these affordable earphones online at www.soundmagic.us at exclusive offers. I would recommend you to look for these.

Check out the Philips SHP9500. They're excellent value for the price, given your use is indoors (private).

I can second the recommendation of the Audio-Technica ATH-M30X- for the money they are the best sounding headphones I own (currently have ATH-M30X, Bowers and Wilkins P5 and PSB M4U2). I use the M30X for gaming and are my daily cans for music when I'm not at home- they are very comfortable, do a good job of blocking outside noise and handle many different types of music extremely well (classical, EDM, classic rock to name a few). They punch WAY above their weight and are worth consideration.

There are cheap gaming headphones, they're always good I have the steel series 3hv2 (if its written like it) and to me they're pretty good, they have a long cord (including the 2 to 1 thing, that the mic and headphones will be in the same plug) the quality's good and it blocks some sound

Creative Aurvana Live! ($53 on Amazon) for closed or Philips SHP9500 ($65 on newegg) for open.
CAL! is still on innerfidelity's wall of fame. SHP9500 is among Zeos' top recommendations. Both perform well above what their price suggests.

For less than $40 on Amazon consider the Superlux HD668B, they are a knock off of AKG headphones and I think they sound much better than their low price would. Also thumbs up on the Audio Technica ATH-M30x and AKG M220.
