There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Beyond that - this strap is beautiful. Love the look and the patina is sure to only deepen over time. I want to put this on not just my Glycine but both of my Steinharts, could play on the Hamilton Khaki Field, as well. The leather and stitching both feel very high quality.
Assorted thoughts on this Glycine (which is my first experience with the brand) now that I have had it for some time:
- Great bang for your buck, maybe more so than any other watch I own. Granted, I paid 30% of the MSRP.
- It has the best date complication of any watch I own. It turns over immediately and with an extremely satisfying click.
- Glycine does a nice job dressing up the ETA movement (http://calibercorner.com/glycine-caliber-gl-224/) and it keeps impeccable time, way more accurate than they rate it.
