NaNoWriMo

more_vert
With November being just around the corner, I was wondering how many people in the writing community were participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month - http://nanowrimo.org/), or NaGaDeMon (National Game Design Month - http://nagademon.com/).
As crazy as it is, I love it, and have had equal parts inspiration and agony come out of the experience.

I'm going to try again this year.
I tried to pants it last year and it blew chunks. 30k words of meandering story line and flat character arcs. Unfortunately it burned me out for short stories, too. I've done some non-fiction writing, but my fiction output went to zero after NaNo last year.
But I think I've got my ideas squared away enough to take another stab at it. We'll see. I'd love to say I plan to use pen and paper for this, but I'm a typist when it comes to writing-writing.

This will be the first year that I try it out. . Looking forward to seeing how motivated I can stay.
This is the first I've ever heard of this, but it sounds like a lot of fun. What kind of things have you made in the past?

AlexPkA couple of Role-Playing Games (that used to be called renegade- doing something other than a novel), but now all are welcome, and two full-fledged 50k word novels... though I never got back around to editing. I'm not sure if working on something that intense has a tendency to make you less than interested in it after the fact, but in both cases, I just lost interest in doing it.

AlexPkI love to start NaNoWriMo with a new fountain pen! Last year it was with two Edison Colliers. Steel blue and Persimmons Swirl. A lovely size and weight for long writing sessions.
