How do you like the LumTec? I've been looking at one of the combat models for months, but they're sort of an unknown factor for me.
Edit: I dig the aesthetic btw.

PrimeSolI have 4 Lum-Tecs now, the lume is really intense after an hour in the sun, and lasts a decent time, but is mostly noticeable going from outdoors to dim interior lighting (like going into a movie theater or a computer data center) if you are outdoors typically the lume is gone by the time twilight is over (for me anyway, but I live in Washington state where twilight is a couple hours or more once spring is here)
My first one had issues and they took care of the issues without hesitation, and they have pretty good communication typically.
Everything I have from them is a "special" metal, I have 2 bronzes and 2 Tungsten. I like the heft of these metals. My other bronze is Combat, and I really like the look of that one when I hiking/doing outdoors stuff. The M series are more office wear.
If you don't mind getting emails (and hey you are on Massdrop so you probably don't) they have a sign up page to get notified of sales (which are 15% typically) They don't send a lot of mails I think I get 4-5 a year (2 or 3 for black friday and 1 or 2 for the other sales)

CarypearsonThat... is a very thorough response. You're truly awesome, and thank you. I think you may have just convinced me, which my girlfriend will be thrilled about.
Nonetheless, I destroyed my last two nice watches so it's time. Do you have quartz or automatic? I hate batteries, so that's gonna factor in for me.
Sorry to ask more of you!

PrimeSolAll of my Lum tecs are autos, that was part of the original appeal for me :) (and that the M series looks like Panerai)
My combat is an auto with the respectable Miyota movement, it came with like 3 or 4 straps, and I really dig the NATO straps on the Combats. The crystal is synthetic sapphire which is nicely scratch resistant.
You might want to look around for a used one on some of the watch forums like watchuseek , as the more affordable combats are quartz battery movements now but there used to be some automatics available at around what they are now charging for the quartz.

CarypearsonBoth are autos, one was already sent back and stopped again, the other one, a cobalt version, stopped after about 9 months. I've had two Helbergs that kept great time and so does my Sinn
