I am a Marine, and hard-hat diver so my experience with knives is from a working viewpoint, aesthetics does play a part though. Those things said, the knife size is good for a pocket knife or EDC. I do prefer at least a partial serration on most blades which is especially helpful if dealing with various types of line and fabrics. A point on a knife, in my opinion is a necessity, it doesn't have to be a needle point, I carry several with tanto tips. The D2 steel is hard and will hold an edge, if you can get one on it. It is difficult to sharpen if you are not really experienced. As far as corrosion resistance this steel is ok, but not great. My opinion is it would be a workable tool, but in my opinion there are much better options out there. On a side note I think it's ugly. Sorry OKC.
