I drove to Kissimmee, FL on 12/27 to avoid Pennsylvania's winter and stay with my niece.
Besides my Janome 7700 and more quilting projects than clothing, I packed my 3 fondue pots for a party and my favorite cookbooks. There is a quilting guild less than 2 miles away, so I joined The Patchers of Time. It is wonderful. At the St. Cloud Community Center, they have a Sit & Sew every Tuesday From 8am to 4 pm.
My WIP project started on 6/24/2010 from a class at Steve's Sewing & Vacuum, King of Prussia, PA. Susan Shiveley, Midnight Owl Quilts designed the pattern - Bodacious Batiks
and taught the class. At the January Tuesday Sit & Sew I tackled this monster project again. I had completed only 35 blocks of the 85 blocks necessary for a queen size quilt. Moda Basic Grey Figgy Pudding - 80 charm squares, some fat quarter and yardage bought in 2010. Barely had enough for the setting triangles and the first border. Lastly I wanted to finish with a 10" border. How was I going to match the border fabric for this quilt? Amazing, the Moda fabric line - Grunge is still in print. So waiting for the fabric to arrive and finally be done and off to my favorite long arm quilter, Chris.
