Hey Axel!! I've always been a huge fan of Sennheiser's high-end lineup~~~~
To me, in general, I've seen Beyerdynamic as the company of Tesla technology, and Hifiman or Audeze as the go-to for Orthodynamics.
Sennheiser, to me, is the all-arounder fit for everything, especially tube-amps. It never exactly seemed like Sennheiser has been directed into specific areas, which got me thinking.....
Are we ever going to see specialized headphone designs from Sennheiser? Kind of how the HD518, 558, and 598 got lighter in bass and clearer treble while ascending the lineup, is there any chance we'll see headphones made for specific genres and such?
And, now this one is something I'd really love to see; is there any chance you will make planar magnetic headpnones for the masses?
I've seen reviews claiming the HE400S of HiFiman has dethroned the legendary HD650s on some accounts, so is it time for Sennheiser to try their own hand at planars?
If it ever happens, my personal suggestion would be releasing two planars; one to compete in the $300-500 range, and one to compete in the $1500 range :)
