There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

Sadly nope, still longing for my 6xxto be ship this August. Sigh. Yes!! 4xx damn can't wait for it!!! Manwhile, I do listen while browsing through MD with my current DT880 Pro 250ohm with Alex Cavalli Hybrid Tube Amp! Again.... These XX series are taking too long! :(
@RayF & @Deathbed Surely you know that the Sennheiser and Hifiman headphones are being built and shipped from the manufacturer... rather than being resold from a retailer with stock in a warehouse. That said, I totally understand the anticipation that turns into anxiousness that comes from waiting for audio gear! I have an HD 650 (your HD 6XX will sound closer to the DT 880 than the HE-4XX, but will have more weight and body to the sound and less of that steep treble spike in the DT 880), but I backed the Smyth Realizer A16 on Kickstarter the day the campaign opened... two years ago this summer coming up! That said... this summer is going to be an AMAZING audio summer for us all, eh?
@Deathbed I love my Cavalli Audio Liquid Carbon (first run, before Massdrop), and while it doesn’t have tubes I know that Alex designs some pleasurable/musical amps! Did it make a good effect with your DT 880?
@RayF I also think you took a great still-life here! Is that a spotlight or a vignette effect? Love all the earthy tones... clearly this was more effort than merely slapping some random things on a table and taking a snapshot, but I appreciate your effort (and result). Got any pictures/pairings with your HD 6XX? Have you ever read “the Left Hand of Darkness” by Ursula K. LeGuin?
I happen know that's the case, because I waited about three or four months for my 6XXs and when they finally got here--they were already burned in! Coincidence? I don't think so! Of course I'm aware of that other theory concerning the long wait times--something about Somali Pirates, but that one sounds a little far-fetched to me.
As for the photograph you mention; yes, a little heavy-handed on the Vignette slider, but that's my preference. The effect tends to frame an image and I prefer it to images that appear to have been cropped with random intentions (when you come to the edge of one of my photos, you know for certain, that's where I put it!) As for the effort, there are two steps that I find most taxing--the first is what it include and what to leave out, and they other is remembering where it all came from so I can put it all back where it belongs. Fortunately, this particular shot wasn't very complicated, and I got to drink the beer afterwards.
I do have a couple of pictures with my 6XXs:
You might also find some of these interesting:

And finally, no, I am not familiar with "The Left Hand of Darkness" but being left-handed myself, I'll surely have to look in to it--if for no other reason than to be sure the author hasn't maligned my little minority group in some way ; - )
Hope you like the pics,
Cheers!
I thiiink I know why you have the syringes in the one photo... but I can’t help but also be reminded that I have a special syringe for the express purpose of flushing out earwax 😂
Thanks again, have a great day! Aaaaar!
Oh God my eyes going blur reading g both ur comments hahaha. I gotta answer you about the pairing of dt880 with Alex Cavalli Hybrid, well some asked me the same question. But I gotta be honest I'm a complete noob when it comes to explaining audiophile's and amps stuff. To me, I just can say it sound awesome as in, comparing to my Bravo Audio V2 with Lion Gold tube upgrade, it feels less pain to listen to, don't get me wrong not that bravo audio isn't good but the sound produced at high volume still gives me the relax sensation. It's overall well balance. Not to high at the the high, mids and bass.
@RayF Harr Harr Harr attack!!!!!!!!! For 6xx for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you might wanna recruit Mr @Evshrug as well in this! Hahaha.
alright, I can get it that Deathbed could actually make a good song for Christian faith or a metal band. But that’s not what pops into my mind EVERY TIME I see your name, no Sir! It’s the movie, Deathbed: the Bed that Eats. It‘s not an existential exploration of the final moments of life, seeking comfort as you feel yourself slipping your grip on the mortal coil, NO. Enjoy: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=01l1WIC9mBo
I LOVE that this movie exists. It’s not scary, it’s not campy, it actually takes it self serious, in a kind of ennui, Lithium trip kind of way. I admire the fact that it didn’t die on the cutting room floor or even before that crumpled up in a wastebasket. It’s a weird artifact of Hollywood.
What was this discussion even about again? Booze and knives? Hell yeah, drink a lot of booze and watch this on YouTube or something!
