New addition! Lorier Neptune. This micro brand is from Texas so I had to support them. Besides I always wanted a well done gilt dial lol. This bracelet is awesome and those who know me, know I almost immediately swap straps, but this one I cannot take off....yet lol

Yeah they are actually out of Houston. Great looking piece man. May have to throw some support their way for this one.

I opted for the blue. Absolutely love it and have been wearing it more than some of the costlier watches in my (small) collection.

Do you have any experience with aftermarket bracelets?

Ok I had to go to a PC to get this reply in, than on my phone. I do have a couple shark mesh ebay/amazon type purchases that came from China. I know a few watch guys that have as well and know their tastes and quality in terms of micros that we buy. For the "cheap" ones, it's really a gamble. Some love the heck out of them, some are just "meh" some all out hate them. I believe the hate is a strong word, but if you find one fault in something or looking for something, you aren't going to like it period.
For me, my mesh purchases were decent. A couple of imperfections, but for 20 bux shipped from overseas is great IMO.
For your question on the non fitted endlink bracelets like the straight endlinks I guess you are referring to; I have a few. Most are from Strapcode. Reason? Because the strapcode bracelets are pretty much what you pay for. I have a standing coupon, but it is really a better than nothing coupon because the cost is pretty much up there. Something like the angus and super engineer types, which I have are great. They are sold links and are great to wear and hold up very well. They are a bit "beefy" than the cheaper alternatives, but I like the different look Strapcode provides. I dig it and fits my personality. I have also bought Hadley Roma's fitted end links from ebay. The end links are folded so on some watches, the end links do rattle a bit. But if you choose a straight end link, you won't have that issue. The Hadley Roma's are a bit more toned down with the styling and match up pretty much to the stock bracelets you get when buying a $500 watch IMO.
Do I have a 5 ring zulu? No, for a skinny wristed guy like me, it'll get in the way and the folds would be way too bulky . I do have the 3 ring zulus and have worn most of my Nato's that way as well. The 5 rings I have only heard of one way, but I think are other ways, but here's a youtube vid showing how I would wear it.
https://youtu.be/EaKyBTcGIUQ
As I said, I often wear the 3 rings and my leather Natos the same way; And that is usually a one pass-through system and I place the watch head pretty equidistant from the buckle and the strap holes and from there, I strap it on pretty much like a regular two piece strap but with the tuck being at the bottom and thus the hardware being on the bottom side as well.
But as with all other things out there, YMMV. Meaning what I wear as "comfortable" wouldn't be for another person. Being whatever variables that gives you the most comfort when you are wearing something.
And what is this webbing strap you are referring to?
Hope this helps in some way. Cheers!

kpjimmyThanks a lot! Re 5-ring, I just got a leather one. "Locking it in" per the video makes it just a bit too bulky on top, and uses too much tail. I went back to the instructions that came with the strap, which I had not bothered to read, and they say to just string it through the two 6 o'clock rings, or *alternatively* to lock it in. So I guess there are two ways. I won't lock in this one, but if I ever get a 5-ring nylon I may give it a try, since the fabric is thinner and more flexible than leather. All the rings on the leather one does give it a nice "SM biker" look, but less sweaty than a bundt strap.
I guess I'll just start to buy some third party bracelets and see what happens. I found this page on Medium that has a lot of links:
