When packing stuff for a bikepacking/backpacking trip, two factors are really important for me : pack size (space) and weight. So please take those factors into consideration. Secondly, a have a hard time finding a good waterproof jacket that stays dry for a long time while being on the move (like cycling) and that's not because of sweating, but I think mostly due to pushing the water through the membrane while moving. And if you find a jacket that keeps you reasonably dry, I find that within a year or so, this starts to deteriorate quickly. Last but not least, always looking for a light (& small pack size) insulated, hooded jacket, with a slim fit, that keeps you warm when you get of the bike when you set up camp, in which you could sleep and start riding in the morning. Enough requirements?? ;-)

bikepacker-witI agree with the second point. One thing I would like to see is a rain jacket that is breathable everywhere except the pressure points. Areas like the shoulders and hems should be completely impermeable by reinforcing them with something like vinyl.
