About two or three years ago, I first moved to the M50x from the Street by 50 wired headphones. From there I got a Xiaomi Piston 2.1 and Ostry KC06a. I initially thought that was my moment, but I had a hard time discerning the differences between the M50x and my IEMs (and even preferred my Piston 2.1s over my M50x for a short period). During that time, I simply could not justify my purchase of the Schiit Modi2/Magni2 stack since I had a hard time seeing any actual improvement.
However, I accidentally left my KC06a and my Fiio X1 in the washing machine, so I had to get a new IEM. Fortunately, the X1 survived. I got the Fidue A83 and that moment was when I started to do critical listening and was able to understand more about the audio terminology and what it meant to my listening experience.
Today, I've gotten two more DAPs, one more portable DAC, the AKG K7xx, and four more IEMs (although I've sold some things). The Fidue A83 still remains in my collection as a personal favorite. Also, if the bhazard is the same person on the Head-fi thread, then I also remember looking at your thread (the Asian brand thread) there a few times back a year and a half ago.

SyntheticShotzYep, it's me. I tend to focus on Asian brands as the bang for the buck is fantastic. Nothing wrong with quality gear like Schiit though. I've owned the Modi/Magni myself.
