Wrist Check

Wrist-Check Fathers Day Edition Today I’m showing off a Fathers Day gift from my wife, the Seiko Prospex Automatic PADI Special Edition SRPA21. It’s not currently strapped on my wrist because I need to remove a few links from the bracelet first - and yes, I’m familiar with the Seiko pin & collar procedure with their bracelets. I’ve had my eye on this watch for awhile and it’s finally in my collection....finally! That beautiful blue sun-ray style dial along with it’s iconic red & blue Pepsi bezel just pulls me in every time I look at it. The classic cushion / turtle style case is not exactly the same as the original 1970’s Seiko 6000 series of watches but it’s certainly a call-back to that vintage era of Seiko watches. And then there’s that delicious lume, so much lume....ha! At some point I’m sure I’ll get called out for owning a watch that’s so heavily aimed at dive instructors (PADI) or those who at least have been certified to dive, but I’ll have to take the hit because I love this watch. I have no plans to swap-out the bracelet for a leather strap as I think this watch looks perfect with the bracelet as delivered. My new Seiko Prospex PADI will get plenty of wrist time this summer as it has moved near the top of my list of every day watches amongst my collection. Not sure where you live, but unless it is on a beautiful island somewhere or in Central America I doubt anyone will call you on not diving with your dive watch. Mine rarely get wet beyond washing some dishes.
Beautiful watch! Congrats on the new addition, what a wonderful gift.

Vintage1982BenzI'm in South San Jose, CA where there is zero diving unless one travels and hour or so out to the coast and even then only certain areas are designated (safe) diving locations. Thanks man!
