Rebel - A Keycap Design that Deserves some Love

This is Rebel, a keycap set design that I spotted on a poll a few days ago. If you've been around for a while you've probably seen it. The poll is more than two years old, but as of yet this keycap set has not gone into production. Today I'd just like to point it out because I personally think it's an awesome design that deserves a production run, and I'd be proud to own a set myself.

This set is heavily inspired by the popular sci-fi film series Star Wars, even going as far as to offer Aurebesh (the Star Wars universe's alphabet) alphas. The novelty kit, shown below, offers caps with the Rebel insignia as well as a few other very cool keys that you aren't likely to find anywhere else. The colorways are bright and vibrant, contrasting brilliant orange alphas against gray or white modifiers. All this can be seen in the pictures below, which come directly from the designer's Massdrop poll.

In my opinion, this is one of the coolest designs I've seen. I personally love the look of Aurebesh, and the color selection is fantastic. If you'd like to have this design on your keyboard, check out the poll linked below and let the designer know what you think about his keycap set. There are some other layout options there as well.

I like Star wars, the design but I dislike the orange color ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TekilaShotI think the inspiration is from the orange jumpsuits the rebels use when they're piloting spacecraft. But, to each his own. Maybe there will be other color options at some point.

I'm not even a hardcore Star Wars fan, but I'll always bump orange designs.

Indeed. I was toying with that color scheme on several key-caps-on-demand sites (basically pimpmykeyboard.com and maxkeyboard.com), but then remembered that I had seen that design somewhere else before. Seems to have been that poll here on Massdrop. At least DuckDuckGo found no other occurrence (besides the vote and your posting), but then again, if you look specifically on the according sites, you'll also find according ICs on Reddit and Geekhack: https://redd.it/4hfvxq (refers to) https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=76080.0
What's IMHO unclear from the Massdrop poll, is what profile the key cap set was meant to have: It seems not SA since SA is a distinct voting option and the mock-ups IMHO look more like DSA. But the IC on Geekhack and Reddit clearly states SA.
But then again, those designs I was toying with were with white alphanumerics and orange modifiers and black legends everywhere, like this example of custom colored DSA key caps from PMK:

(Which is probably less exotic, but I just like it better. Then again that SA rendering in the Massdrop poll doesn't look that bad either. :-)
I'm though no fan of the SA profile, so I might just order myself a custom key cap set in that color scheme, probably in DSA. Lacks the nice novelities then, but oh well. (Well, I probably could get a black-yellow striped spacebar somewhere. IIRC there were some on Massdrop recently.)
