Steinhart Divers

I am seeig a lot of interest for the Steinhart Divers in the polls. They are some very beautiful watches and from what I can tell well made. Does anyone know if Massdrop has contacted them to see if it is possible to get it as a drop? There are over 1000 votes for the Steinhart Ocean One Black in the polls so there is definately some serious interest from the members.

Right? Been bugging them for months now. I like the pilot watches the most but I would love a vintage 1 diver
The gmt looks really good, very tempted

By the way, once you get it please let me know if you end up having to pay any customs fees or not.

No customs, etc. All included in the cost from the manufacturer.
I'd be in for the OCEAN 44

i like this watch
I'd be in.
I'd love for this drop to happen, I'd buy a couple for sure
Titanium would be a nice option. I'd be in for that...
It's a good idea. I'll buy one!
For the Ocean One Black, what are your opinions comparing the standard aluminum bezel insert vs. the optional ceramic bezel insert. The aluminum has matt finish with number and markers are clear (sharp); the ceramic bezel with high gloss has numbers/marker are not as clear (faint) under certain light. I have only seen them in pictures and Youtube videos, but it is difficult to decide which one I like better without seeing them in person. -thanks.

i am contemplating changing the bezel on my ocean one ceramic to a aluminium one for that reason, purely technical the ceramic is more durable for sure, but the markers and numbers are faint in certain light.
not to say they are invisible at all, just more faint and that bothers me more then i thought it would when i bought the watch so i will order a new aluminium one. (although i would love the bezel of a 500ti with engraved markers, but it is not for sale by steinhart )
best regards
I happen to own four of their models before they had to change their name. If my memory serves me, the owner was based out of Florida and had the models made using ETA movements. They tried with a different name because Steihart was deemed too close to some other watchmaker's name. If these Ocean Ones are as good as my six year old ones, you will love them!
I own 3 Steinhart watches, excellent quality at a reasonable price.
One of my own is sitting on my desk right now. I hope this thing drops so you guys can get one of your own. I love mine, and because it's not super expensive I'm not afraid to wear it often.
Please drop this! Been eyeing up one of these for the past year. Definitely a beautiful watch.
I know it is likely sacrilege but I would rather have a Steinhart Ocean One than a Rolex.

But the date is very difficult to see when your eyesight is not longer what it once was. They should do a big date version, and none of that displaying three dates at once stuff.

Here, here on the big dates.

But if nothing else, the three dates thing does give your poor eyes some context to help decide what you're seeing: "Is that 2 or 21? Well, it seems to be surrounded by something that looks more like 20 and 22 more than 1 and 3, so 21!"

I seem to remember a watch that put the date at three o'clock, literally, where the three would be, and in roughly the same size font as the three would be (and the 12, 9, and 6 were. So on the 21st it would appear to be 21 o'clock twice a day at 3 o'clock. But if you were used to the watch, you'd always know the date.
