Hey, i am from India and i have ordered several products from Massdrop. the customs charges are not included, usually anything around 4K INR is not charged any customs fee. over that you are looking at about 40 to 50 percent charges. e.g, i ordered smsl m6 dac amp which cost me about 9k INR including shipping and then i had to pay about 4.5k INR for customs. not a bad deal considering the price on indian sites was 25K INR for same product . i havent received any thing after the GST came in to effect so not sure whether it will increase or decrease the customs charges. there are a few thing on the way from massdrop to me in the next few weeks so i will find out soon.
dont be disheartened by the customs charges, most of the stuff available in massdrop is not available in India and even with the customs charges the final cost tends to be lesser than the cost for same stuff available for import on sites like amazon.

consolationyes, doesn't matter what you order. i think they do waive charges off for educational stuff like books or lab equipment but thats it. Also, the customs are charged on the retail price and not the discounted price.

sandymsuYou are better off buying it locally. Lamington road stores are still best source for pc stuff. I recently ordered pinnacle px which cost me about 118usd including shipping and I didn't have to pay any customs. Just so you know the customs is charged on the MRP and not the price you pay after the discounts. Plus for the graphics card you might not be able to claim warranty in India. But really if you are buying card from massdrop add atleast 40% customs. If it's still cheaper then go for it. I use massdrop for stuff that I can't find in India like my poker3 keyboard. I paid almost 50%customs on that but I couldn't have got that in India anyway so I'm ok with that.

RudalviThanks for the replay. i researched on internet and found that, after GST only 18% ( IGST ) will be applicable as custom duty on graphic card. here are some links : 1 http://www.cybex.in/indian-custom-duty/Kapslerforskning-Site-Terbinafin-Php-Yan-Duty-Calculator-84733030.aspx 2 http://www.exportgenius.in/india-import-duty/graphics-card
3 Here is the Govement Site who calculate duties on graphic card https://www.icegate.gov.in/Webappl/index_imp.jsp?helptxt=%3Cfont%20color=red%3EPlease%20check%20and%20enter%20Tariff%20or%20Description%20Both%20blank%20not%20allowed%20%3C/font%3E
Enter below information on 3rd number link, you will the amount of 18% IGST Value. HS CODE of graphic Card : 84733030 Graphic Card 1070 EVGA black edition : 26000 INR (world wide warranty)

My question now is , have you purchased after GST implemented ? how much IGST cost you on your product
Thanks

rutwikkillerNo I did not bought Yet, waiting for Black Friday Deal or will buy next year. still 40% Tax (custom duty ))will be applicable to all products. if the price is 30,000 inr... than cost will be 30,000 + 40% Custom duty + 2000 shipping charge , so it will be : 30,000+12,000+2000 = 44,000 inr :)

RudalviI'm also interested in the p1. The drop's still on. You said you didn't have to pay anything beyond 118$ for the door delivery isn't ?? Also sennheiser hd650 is on sale but India in not in the list. It's just 200$. The price here is about Rs 33000, more than double. Can you advise me on how to get this shipped to India without paying too much. I'm asking since you said you've bought a lot of stuff from here

SubruCustoms will be charged upon delivery. The delivery guy will take the payment and hand you the receipt. If something needs to be disclosed the courier company might contact you in advance. Is it 4k USD or INR ? cause you would not pay any customs on 4k INR

Prashant.7The customs have been so inconsistent lately. I ordered dekoni pads for my akg for which I paid about 2000rs. I didn't expect to pay any customs but to my surprise when it arrived they demanded 1400 RS for customs. Which I had to pay or raise dispute with then which would have taken weeks.
So in your case you may need to pay about half of the original cost as customs.

XenxtxyNowadays, since May 2020, you can be taxed about 95% of the amount (Which is laughable) So if you order the 8k item, and ship it via DHL or FedEX you can expect your total Tax to also be 8000RS/- (LOL). I got a couple hoodies from an Anti Social Social Club drop where the order price was 9k and i had to pay 9.5k in taxes. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi, i am not an expert on this subject. but as per my knowledge and research done it appears that the import of Headphones from USA to India will attract a minimum of 10-15% (Basic customs duty). however the actual amount you need to pay varies and can be as much as almost full value of the product. Personally I would not want to buy anything thats over 5-6 K INR from Drop.com because i have noticed my purchase of upto 6k INR didnt attract any customs however another purchase which was about 8K INR caused me to pay almost 4K INR in customs. These charges are decided by the customs handling officer and you will have an option to dispute the charges, but if you do raise a dispute be ready to have to wait for a few months for your item to be cleared by them and countless mails and even visit to the customs office. TBH its not worth it for a small purchase of few thousand rupees. they wont even entertain if you try to reason with them. If you want to buy good quality headphones, try Headphonezone.com. they are reputed and official retailers in India for many international brands I have personally bought several headphones, DAC/AMP including my chord mojo, Ifi Micro idsd BL from them and it doesn't cost a penny more than the original price. i am not endorsing them. there are several good online stores in India now where you can buy quality audio gear.
