Glycine running fast

more_vert
I have a Glycine Combat Automatic that suddenly started running very fast, gains about an hour a day. Watch is less than a year old. Has anyone else had this experience with this watch? Watch has not been dropped or externally damaged in any way.

Just to add on to Gamera's advice, it is also possible for other things like a drop of oil or a bit of grit to get stuck in the hairspring's coil and make it oscillate faster to gain time. A person would inspect with a loupe and blow clean with compressed air in that case. But the least-invasive fix to try first is the demagnetizer. It's the same idea: the hairspring coils stick together by magnetic attraction that makes it oscillate fast.

It has been magnetized. Buy one of those blue box demagnetizers for 10 bucks or less on ebay (shipping from China included) and follow the instructions you'll find on any number of YouTube videos.
