My preference for home listening has generally leaned more toward open-back headphones, with closed-back cans used mainly for serious listening while traveling. Current open-back 'phones are Grado's SR325is, which I've had for over six years and still terrific to my ears. For travel, my long-time go-to has been Sennheiser's HD 25-1 II, which hit the sweet spot for good sound, decent passive isolation, and near-bulletproof construction. In both categories, I've listened to cans that can do one or another thing a bit better than these, but nothing that knocks either of them off the pedestal so far without blowing a ridiculous wad of cash.

amateriatWhat pads you running on the Grado's? I've tried most but keep going back to the Sennheiser 414 (yellow pads).

VollySo far, I haven't had much reason to move from the stock pads - just lucky, maybe? :-) Once they wear out, I might check out aftermarket pads.
