The Quinault Rainforest is one of the finest ancient temperate rainforests left on earth. Curtains of moss drape some of the largest living trees, and everywhere one looks is something green and growing - a mind-boggling variety of species carpets every surface. Waterfalls and crystal clear creeks plunge through hidden canyons filled with moss and ferns. Cedar bogs play host to titanic ancient red cedars, the scent of skunk cabbage an overpowering presence in the air. Few places can be said to be so alive as this vibrant valley on the Olympic Peninsula.
