Anyone know of a good and extremely portable dac/amp for my iphone 5? I've been looking at the JDS Labs C5D.

vongYou should go to your local audio store, try a Chord Mojo and if you can't notice a reasonable improvement in audio quality out or your iPhone, you should either save your money or use it to buy a better pair of headphones.

vongI've had my C5d for a while now, actually got it on MD a few years ago. I really do like the size (about a deck of cards, but slimmer) and it works well with my Pixel 2 XL as amp (and DAC as long as I'm using UAPP and locally stored files). I think you'd be pleased with the C5D, although I've heard good things about cayin's portable amp/DAC as well. Fiio [discontinued?] e17 and e18 are also good choices but I feel the JDS is warmer and I prefer the ability to tweak the bass a bit more. The newer Fiio Q1 seems to be liked as well.

JRock71I really want to check out the dragonfly red or the apogee groove. But I just bought the GET Bluetooth wireless DAC/amp so going to give that a go first. I bought the DAC port slim but haven't used that on with my OTG cable

vongDespite it's going to be unavailable try Oppo Ha-2SE with Oppo PM-3 headphones.
BanerI should also say that chord love using colours as indicators, which is a right annoyance if you’re like me and red-green colourblind
