I have no interest in home theatre / AV systems with 5.1 or 7.1 or even 127.1 if that ever comes out!
I'm looking for two-channel systems specifically intended for hires music reproduction (whether supplied by CD players, turntables, digital files, or bluetooth). I'm NOT interested in no-name Chinese products that I can't evaluate locally. I am looking for new technology from the top-five or so, mainstream manufactures. Open to receivers or integrated amplifiers (but leaning to the later) in $1,000-ish 100w/side-ish range and speaker systems in the same price range. I want versatility in connection options/sources, but don't care about paid subscription streaming service compatibility. Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sony, Marantz for amps and receivers, partial to JBL for speakers--undecided about bookshelf vs floor standing.
And of course, everything must be compatible with my extensive collection Elvis eight-track tapes...
