As someone who flies ~110K miles/yr only two things matter: comfort and noise cancellation/isolation. I've traveled with both ATs the M40 and M50, neither does a good job at keeping noise out and boy do they get super hot (physically, not musically). Bose is heavily scoffed at and looked down upon, but honestly at 30K feet with turbines hitting 50-60 dBs noise cancellation becomes non-negotiable. While I wouldn't touch Bose with a 10-foot pole on land (and specially at home), you can't beat them for travel: long battery, excellent NC/NI and bearable SQ.

rdodevAlso a multivitamin. Go and read the researches done on radiation damage at that altitude to frequent flyers. Dr. Greger recommend a multivitamin with sustained release and vitamin C tablets while traveling.

rdodevDon't be so snobby-sounding! I have the Bose QC35s and I wear 'em at sea-level all the time! I hate flying commercial--and I refuse to take to the skies again until my private Airbus 380 is delivered (which admittedly may be a while), so I use the QC35s as they were intended--when wired headphones aren't practical (and when I'm trying to ignore my girlfriend/worst nightmare).
If, for instance, I'm outside at the grill tending to dinner, I celebrate the sound of QC35's rather than bemoaning the fact that I'm not wearing a $900 pair of HighFi Mans, connected to fill-in-the-blank's $2,000 DAC/Amp--because that would mean I'd have to be wired and that doesn't work outside. So thank your lucky stars that the good folks at Bose made these things for the times we'd otherwise be without any music (or the ability to drown out our sig-others), even when grounded!
BTW, if anyone else out there is also looking to order their very own private Airbus 380, this site is definitely worth a look:

RayFI don't own any one given piece of audio gear that costs more than $450. For my use case the Qc35iis work great, but can't compare to my humble hi-fi home setup thus why they're not even close to being in my shortlist when on land. No snobbery intended.
Also unless you're an Emir or Bezos, I think you can slum it up with Gulfstream G6. I promise your country club buddies won't look down upon you ;)
