I'm in the market for a monitor (or three) right now and I've kind of divided my options into two categories: Main Monitor - Will be the one I primarily focus on whether it be for gaming, watching movies or TV shows, or doing assignments and whatnot; will be the one directly in front of the chair. 27" (That seems to be the sweet spot; not too big, not too small and anything bigger than these get exponentially more expensive) Nvidia G-Sync (I have a GeForce myself and those tend to be more prevalent, even if they are more expensive generally) 4k / 3840 x 2160 (For my main monitor, I'm prioritizing resolution over refresh rate) IPS Panel Secondary Monitor - Monitor(s) that will sit on either side of the main monitor, most likely for non-gaming usage. For example, if I'm working on assignments I'll often have an Excel spreadsheet open on one monitor I'm working on, and a ppt/pdf/doc with instructions on the other. Or browser window with video going in one window while I'm working on another, etc. 27" (To match the main monitor) 2K / 2560 x 1440 or 1080p / 1920 x 1080 144hz+ (Will give me the flexibility to choose between 4K at 60hz or 2K at 144hz for gaming) Goodies: Neat to have but not deal-breakers if they're missing.
