Picking between two hiking poles

more_vert
My family will be hiking 4 days on the Incan trail next year. We've read a lot if guides that highly recommend poles.
There are currently two poles on drop right now both Carbon and both within an an ounce of each other (Massdrop x Fizan Compact Trekking Poles and the Element Equipment Carbon 3000 Trekking Poles). The biggest difference I can see between them is the price (a $15 delta). So should I go with the cheaper set or is there a worthwhile feature I'm not noticing?

Do note that the fizan are aluminum. Just very very thin aluminum.
I'd recommend the comperdell. Flip locks are way less frustrating in cold/wet conditions.
I had a pretty frustrating experience with my fizan poles. The handles kept coming off when the poles got wedged in rocks or mud. And the light aluminum tended to get bent pretty easily. One of them jammed up and will no longer collapse.

The Fizans are great; can’t speak to the other ones.
