Mitsubishi Uni are, by far, the smoothest, most consistent, and highest quality drawing pencils I have ever used. Added bonus: several grades are available as 2.0 mm refills (perhaps other sizes of refills, but I mostly use 5.6 mm and 2.0 mm ... I have not looked for smaller diameter refills from them to this point), for those who prefer mechanical pencils over wood cased. I've found the turquoise brand lacking in recent years, although the few I am still lucky enough to have from an office store close-out sale 20 years ago were far better quality, and I love those, the newer ones lack distinction between marked graphite grades, and are scratchy and inconsistent. Mitsubishi Uni are smooth, are available in a wide range of grades (including a gorgeous, rich 10 B), the wood cased versions are beautiful, well enamelled, so they are smooth and comfortable, well glued, so there is minimal splitting and breakage, made from high quality aromatic cedar which smells nice when sharpened and sharpens cleanly, and makes a smooth, consistent line. The 2.0 mm refills from them are the same excellent quality. Either way, a dozen of the same pencil grade or 6 of the 2.0 mm are packaged together in a well-designed, attractive, protective, molded plastic case with hinged lid, with individual compartments for each pencil/lead, providing easy storage and dispensing. Almost like they care about their product, and are proud of it ... and they should be. From my experience, they are the best on the market. No contest. I have to order them from Japan, and wait a month or more for delivery, but it is well worth the wait, it just requires extra planning, so I don't run out before new stock arrives. So, "none of the above," that's my vote.
