What about the PSB M4U2s? There sound quality, (In my humble opinion) blows both the Sonys and Bose out of the water. I‘ve listened to them all. (I own the PSBs.)
I tried both the QC 35s and the WH-1000s in various stores as I found them, so very informally tested the two. I came away loving the Sony WH-1000MX2s for all three major areas: comfort, noise cancelling, and sound quality. The QC series is no slouch, and I think at this price point it comes to personal preference and experience more than anything else. The Sonys really sat well on my head and did not pinch my ears (I wear glasses). The Bose sounded great, but were not as comfortable.
I just put up a head to head comparison of five different noise cancelling headphones which ncludes here of the ones listed here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d3_HEnEzPIY
i have to say that as good as the Bose QC35 are, I was underwhelmed by their ANC because people held it in such high regard I expected better. Not that it isn't good mind you. It was like when people overhype a movie. Lol

Would love to hear your take on the Sennheiser HD1, no pun intended.
Why not B&O Play H9?
