As someone who has been deployed around the world. You cant go wrong with Salomon boots. Ultra 3 GTX and Salomon Quest 4D GTX are like tennis shoes . When you depend on your shoes and feet to keep you alive. You got to wear good shoes no matter the cost. If they keep your feet warm in the Afghan winter and dry in the very hot deserts of Iraq. The mobility and durability are priceless. You can count on Salomon boots to get the job done
I don't really have the need for 'hi' hiking boots but I do have a pair of the Keens. I mostly wear trail-runners w/gaiters or lower cut boots for the hiking I do...I have always had good luck w/Salomon and Merrells as well. Most of these are Waaaaayyyyyy too heavy for my taste.
Still waiting for MD to pull this poll off In the meantime, salomon are out with the quest 3 to replace the quest 2 (leading here)
The SCARPA brand is simply outstanding
Are any of these models available in women's fit/women's sizes? If so, what are the chances of the drop including a choice between the womens size/fit and the mens? ( like is done with the Darn Tough socks drop)
Hell, I wish Solomans would make a boot in wide

If you want wide you want Altra's. They are known for their wide toe box

As a matter of fact, I've picked up a couple pair of the Altras...two different styles...and THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!! I've only had a chance to put about 50 miles on late this summer, but most of them have been in the Altra Lone Peaks. I can't remember if they're 3.5s or not, but got them here on Massdrop. What a difference! Thanks for the heads-up, though. More info's always a good thing.
The Zamberlan 960 are amazing ! i had them with me in the snow as well as in the desert. Not enough people ar aware of this great brand. Would totaly get a new pair for the right price.
