Define "Statement"?
You're seriously think putting an Apple watch and a Speedmaster in the same poll (with two dozen other oddly mismatched watches) accomplishes anything? Just another (yawn) MD click-bate poll. Means nothing, accomplishes less.

Omega is starting to get a bit stale for me. Going get mine serviced and move on.
I'm sick of these cheap asses on here voting for watches and then when massdrop puts up a drop for that watch they don't buy it. It's sad, just go to Wal-Mart where you belong with your hundred dollar watches.

Tell us how you really feel. All kidding aside, I can see your point.
Nevermind Rolex etc. Tudor Black Bay S&G. A Rolex Submariner for $2000 less.... enough said!
An Aquaracer should show its face here.

My profile picture is my statement, a Panerai Luminor 1950 GMT. It doesn't breath finesse and precision like a PP, nor does it breath luxury like a a AP and it isn't a show-off like a Rolex. I use it almost every day and I love it, because it breaths quality without most people having a clue what I am wearing.
Looking for a watch for my husband, but thinking more about an everyday wear versus special occasion. He's an engineer so tough is a must, what do you guys suggest? Not really thinking ridiculous $, but willing to invest. Thanks!

Not rude at all, good question. Would prefer to keep cost between $5-10,000, but less is good too if it's a good quality watch. Hubby is not a dress watch every day guy. He is an engineer and can be rough.

I would suggest and Omega Speedmaster pro with sapphire crystal or a Rolex submariner, fantastic tool watches. Both watches will last a lifetime, the Omega is qualified for space flight and the Rolex is a divers watch, Both should be able to handle what your husband throws at them. I personally own a speedmaster myself and its my daily wear watch, never skips a beat and makes me smile every time i look at it. Sorry for the rant hope this helps :D

Apple Watch. My profile pic is me making a phone call while skydiving. Statement made.
Ulysse Nardin Freak is calling my name (wallet). Too many watches are just too busy with their design. Simple is always better when I am buying watches.
What's the "statement" we're trying to make with these Statement Watches. Not sure what I'm actually voting for.

Would have to agree with prestige I had a couple of Rolex's in the past and got a lot of compliments from people saying they liked them, but that's not what I really wanted and ended up moving to AP :)
Being realistic here. What are the chances that you will find a vendor who is willing to cut prices on a watch like a Rolex Deepsea or a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak? These manufacturers keep their dealers on a pretty tight leash as far as pricing goes from what I understand.

I bought one of the Royal Oaks with my friend and they discounted it because we bought together, they only retail through them selves and rarely go to a shop and retail like Rolex do though

AP actually uses a dealer network in addition to several boutique stores that they own directly. This is a common practice among the top tier Swiss watch makers. They will discount but they typically do not discount more than 15 or 20% because they just don't have to. I recently bought two Patek Phillipe watches and got a discount of 15%. I have a friend who has purchased multiple Pateks including a Sky Moon Tourbillion (retail is over $1 million) and he told me the largest discount he ever got is 20%. Realistically, the best deals on high dollar watches is in the used arena. I am looking a a Patek 5396 that has never been worn with box and papers. Retail is $52,000. the asking price of this watch is $36,000 saving me 31%.
Okay, maybe a little silly voting on a $500,000 watch or even a $30,000 watch. I could see watches like the Omega Seamaster falling in a category of receiving massdrop support, but where is the sweet spot? $300 - $750, $750 - $1,200, $1,200 - $2,000. I could go for a great deal ona Panerai, but would there be enough support here to get the price attractive enough?
