I have to wonder why some of these bags are up here. A lot of them are super heavy or super big.
If I were to do bug out type bag, I'd want to carry as many necessary essentials as possible. Tactical bag? How many folks actually have something "tactical" to carry?
If you're going to have a bag to live off the land, I'd want to consider the lightest bag with good load bearing capability on my hips and can carry all the weight on the top of the bag.
Usually this function is done by a backpacking pack in the 60-80L range.
Bugging out means saving your life, treating any immediate injuries, and heading to a location (at whatever distance) that's safe with the kitchen sink that you left there prior.
Essential * MSA Millenium Gas Mask w/ NBC filters (if you can't breathe, you'll die fast) * Shoes (if you can't move, you can't bug out anywhere) * Clothes (shirt, socks, pants, underwear, sweater, windbreaker, gloves) (if it gets cold, your balls might fall off naked) * Source hydration bladder (you can't move far w/o water) * IFAK (Improved first aid kit/Trauma kit) (if you're leaking you probably need help)
Non-Essential * Toiletries * Food/cooking supplies * Water * Sleeping bag * Sleeping pad * Tarp * Notepad * PIstol and/or 22 Rifle 50-100rds of ammo (think oregon trail) * Survival Manual * Fiction book
Nice to have * comms * spotting scope * shortwave radio * tools * gas mask * book
