I've acquired some Gateron keycaps, and I found that they are not quite Cherry profile. You have to look at both the skirt length of the cap and the length of the stem inside the cap. Gateron stems are a tad longer than the stems on Cherry profile caps. Gateron and Cherry caps look the same height when placed side by side on a flat surface, but when mounted on a keyboard, Gateron caps sit a bit higher than Cherry profile caps. This becomes an issue for those who might wish to use different keycap sets for alphanumeric keys and modifiers.
